Artist Info:
AME72 is a UK graffiti artist who was introduced to the scene way back in 1985 after watching the film 'Beat Street'.
Over the last 22 years he has created pieces world wide, but is probably best known for his creative use of lego stencils which represent thought provoking and humorous images reflecting life in today's society.
His preferred use of medium is spray paint but he has also created intricate sculptures from sand, snow and metal.
Notable pieces include 'Where's the missing peace?' done on the Israeli security wall in Bethlehem, Palestine and 'Rooms for rent' done outside Buckingham Palace in London, which highlights the homeless in the UK.

Interview:
Where are you located at the moment? UK
Which medium do you prefer most? Spray paint
What is street art to you? The freedom to express yourself without restriction
If you could collaborate with another street artist who would it be? Keith Haring
Ever got caught? Yes, a long time ago, back in the 80s.
How is the street art scene in Israel? It's quite new here, just a few years old but is catching up fast. The fact it has the security wall here and many renounced artists have painted it has enhanced the scene here.
How did the ame72 motives on the Israel wall come about? I'd planned it for a while, wanted to do something thought provoking, make people think, too many people just don't care or don't really know what's going on out here.
Where do you hang out in Israel? Which places/ Galleries should people check out? I spend my time between the UK & Israel. Tel Aviv is relatively untouched so it's a great place to come and paint. I'm also working on a project next year with Palestinian & Israeli artists, we're just trying to make a difference, one step in the right direction is better than no step at all. If you're in Tel Aviv check out Casco Urban Lab & Legal Action Gallery, both located at Florentine Street 3a, Florentine, Tel Aviv, Oh yeah, everyone who comes to Israel should go and visit Bethlehem.
